Installation Instructions for Soft Touch®
C Series Convertible Bases

Congratulations on your purchase of the Soft Touch® Baseball/Softball bases.

The complete instruction sheet should be read thoroughly before installation. If there are any questions concerning the installation or use of these bases, consult Soft Touch® before using them.

Both patented SOFT TOUCH® bases are designed for easy installation, replacement, and removal from playing fields. The bases flex and absorb energy as a player slides into the base. The force of an improper slide applied to the base will disengage the base cover from the tee mount. The cover can easily be replaced after disengagement.

The Soft Touch® Convertible Cover and Tee will fit any existing 1" ground anchor stem or 1 ½" ground anchor sleeve.

Note: If you already have 1" or 1 ½" ground anchors in place in your field proceed to Step 2.

Step 1) Measure and mark the proper location for each base. Place the 1" or 1 ½" ground anchor of your choice in proper position so that the final installation of the base will be square with the base line. The top of the ground anchor should be 1" below the playing surface. For proper anchoring of the base it is recommended that the anchors be installed in cement. Place the anchors so that the ground tee will be at a 45° angle to the base line and level with the ground at final installation. The stem on the tee should not make contact with any concrete of the ground anchor and should lay flat on the ground. The tee should be fully supported at all points of the playing field.

Note: Spikes are not used with this tee.

Step 2) Place the tee in the ground anchor with flat smooth parts of the tee or the arrow on the tee pointing toward the pitcher's mound.

Note: Manufacturer advises that pointing the arrow towards the pitcher’s mound is the only position that should be used for all play.

Step 3) Align the recess in the base cover with the installed tee. The ground below the base cover should be flat and level with no hollows, depressions, or buildup under the base.

Step 4) Step on the cover until it completely snaps over the tee and lays flat on the ground.

Replacement of cover: To replace the base cover after disengagement, smooth the dirt around the tee and below the area of the base cover to insure a flat level surface. Shake out any dirt that may be lodged in the underside of the cover. Replace the cover and step it down until it snaps into place.

Note: It is important that a regular maintenance program be followed to insure that the bases will lay flat and level on the field and perform as intended. All persons installing the bases at the beginning and during the season should be instructed in the proper installation and replacement of the Soft Touch® bases.

Warranty - Soft Touch® Convertible bases are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for one year (defined as a regular season of normal length for softball and baseball). Normal wear and tear is excluded from coverage.

Customer Advisory & Warning

Be advised that sliding into a baseball/softball base may cause serious and permanent injury. No base, however constructed or designed, can prevent all injuries and the Soft Touch® base is no exception. Sporting events are dangerous in nature. Players, by their participation, assume all risk of injury. Players should be aware of their own physical limitations in participation. All players should be informed of the risk inherent in this sports activity and in the use of these bases. It is the purchaser's responsibility to inform each participant of these dangers. The manufacturer advises that deviation from installation instructions or failure to properly install and maintain bases could increase the risk of injury to players. Playing surfaces around bases must always be properly maintained. Under no circumstances should these bases or base anchors be modified, altered, tampered with, or used when they are damaged. Serious injury may occur.
