They don't call them Cheeseheads, but they are The Cheese Tops. The Waukesha area business, Urethane Systems Plus, Inc.'s main product is its Soft Touch Bases but it also manufactures The Cheese Tops - an offbrand of the item that dons the heads of thousands of screaming Green Bay Packers fans at Lambeau Field.

The Waukesha business is the only manufacturer of disengagable bases in the U.S.Its Soft Touch "progressive release" bases are molded from durable cut resistant polyurethane and are designed to flex and absorb energy as a player slides into the base.

Carolyn Hahn of the Business Alliance said the progressive action allows the base to flex until enough force is applied to pop the base free from the mount, unlike a stationary base, to minimize the potential for player injuries.

Progressive release bases meet the Little League "disengagable" base rule implemented in 2008.
